Deputy Organists

For a list of organists available for deputy work, send a stamped addressed envelope to 18 Villiers Road, Dublin 6.  The list is also published in the Dublin and Glendalough Diocesan Directory, available in parish offices. Basic contact details are listed on this web site.

If you wish to be added to the list, send details to info@churchmusicdublin.org. If any of the information about you on the list is incorrect, please let us know immediately.

Fees

Guidelines on fees for church musicians are issued jointly by the Church Music Committee and by the Advisory Committee for Church Music of the Roman Catholic Episcopal Commission for Liturgy. To view and printout the guidelines for 2010 (unchanged from 2009) click here. 

Silent Worship

In 1990 the Joint Committee for Church Music in Ireland (since disbanded) published a thought-provoking report on music in the Church of Ireland. The report Silent Worship provides a rationale and justification for the use of music in church, gives a fascinating historical background, analsyes the reasons for the shortage of church organists, and makes practical recommendations for the future.
