Post of Organist / Director of Music
St Paul’s seeks to appoint an Organist/Director of Music as soon as possible. The person appointed will be expected to encourage and further develop the adult choir in a parish which has a fine choral tradition. The four-part, robed choir currently consists of 16 women’s and men’s voices. They are a loyal, talented and committed group of people who respond well to being challenged. There is a tradition of singing anthems and other appropriate music for the main festivals of the year.
The organist is required to play at the 10.30am service on Sundays, on other occasions as agreed, and to take a weekly choir rehearsal on Wednesday night.
The two-manual organ, built by Forster and Andrews in 1869, was extensively refurbished in 2018 and is now in excellent condition.
Remuneration will reflect the experience and qualifications of the successful applicant and will be aligned with Church Music Dublin guidelines. Fee Guidelines
A written contract between the appointee and St Paul’s will be entered into and signed by both parties following a mutually satisfactory probationary period.
